Local Government Information

The Town of Myersville, located in Frederick County,  was incorporated by an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland in 1904.  The organization of the Town government, how it conducts business,  and the responsibilities and authorities of the various elected and appointed officials are specified in the Town Charter.  The Mayor and five Council members, one of which serves as Assistant Mayor and one as Secretary, are each elected to four year terms of office.  Municipal elections are held on the second Tuesday of May in even numbered years.  Currently, the elected officials (with the year their term expires) are:

Mayor, and President of the Council:  Wayne Creadick (2004)

Council Vice President:  Gary DeMoss (2006)

The Town also has several employees, including Town Clerk and Treasurer Raymond Hinkle and Administrative Specialist Kathy Gaver.  Town offices are located on the first floor of the municipal center on Harp Place.  The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays).  The phone number is 301-293-4281.

Regular Town Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the first floor meeting room of the municipal center.   Special meetings, workshops, or hearings are scheduled when needed.  Notices are published in the Middletown Citizen.

The Myersville Code of Ordinances was approved on August 10, 1999 and became effective on August 31, 1999.  The Code repealed and re-enacted all existing Town ordinances, consolidating them in one document and re-organizing them by topic.  Click here to view or download Myersville ordinances.
